Philippine Embassy in Cambodia’s Outreach Brings Consular Services and Overseas Voting Registration Closer to Filipinos Despite the Pandemic

17 December 2020, Phnom Penh – The Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia brought closer consular services and overseas voting registration to Filipinos residing in Siem Reap and nearby provinces, despite the pandemic, during a mobile outreach on 12-13 December 2020.

During the two-day consular outreach mission, a total of 60 Filipinos were served and 65 consular services were rendered, such as Embassy I.D. issuance and renewal; passport renewal and passport extensions; civil registry (Report of Birth and Report of Marriage); and notarial services (e.g. acknowledgment of employment contract, Special Power of Attorney, affidavits, etc.).

Filipinos who went to the consular outreach thanked the Embassy and all its personnel for “making mobile services available” to the Filipinos in Siem Reap and for the “kind,” “accommodating” and “efficient” services given to Filipinos in Cambodia. END

On the first day of the outreach, December 12, the Embassy personnel wore shirts and face masks with the words “VAW-free community starts with me,” which is the theme of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), celebrated from November 25 to December 12 annually.

Siem Reap is six (6) hours away by land travel from Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital. The Embassy regularly conducts a mobile outreach in said areas at least once a year. END
