Phnom Penh – Twelve (12) Filipino children participated in an art workshop organized by Sentro Rizal Phnom Penh of the Philippine Embassy on 8 December 2019. Entitled “Paskong Pinoy,” the workshop was conducted by 16-year old Justinia delos Santos, who wanted to share with her fellow third culture Pinoy kids based in Cambodia a clear understanding and appreciation of Filipino Christmas, through art.
She demonstrated the basic step-by-step technique on painting using water-based acrylic medium. The theme focused on parols (lanterns) illuminating a church during a simbang gabi (dawn mass), a Filipino tradition.
The parents of the participants were amazed with the unearthed talent of their children as shown in their “master pieces”. END
