16 September 2019, Phnom Penh – The Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh brought consular services closer to Filipinos in Sihanoukville through the annual conduct of the mobile outreach on 14-15 September 2019.

During the two-day consular outreach mission in Sihanoukville, the Embassy served a total of 60 Filipinos and rendered 70 consular services.

The following services were offered in the outreach: Embassy I.D. issuance and renewal; passport renewal and passport extensions; civil registry (Report of Birth and Report of Marriage); and notarial services (e.g. acknowledgment of employment contract, affidavit of invitation, etc.).

Filipinos who availed themselves of the consular services thanked the Embassy personnel for conducting the mobile outreach as it helps Filipinos in Sihanoukville save time and money they will spend in traveling to Phnom Penh. A comment from a Filipino who came to the outreach was “Maganda ang assistance na ibinigay sa amin.”

The Office of the Defense and Armed Forces Attaché of the Philippines in Cambodia also held two (2) orientation/briefings on 14 and 15 September 2019 for members of the Filipino community in Sihanoukville concerning the Communist Terrorist Groups in the Philippines, which was followed by an open forum.

Sihanoukville is six (6) hours away by land travel from Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s capital. The Embassy regularly conducts a mobile outreach in the said area at least once a year. END
