FILIPINOS IN PHNOM PENH AVAIL OF FREE SERVICES

AT SAMAPI MEDICAL MISSION

PHNOM PENH, 21 March 2019 - Over 200 Filipinos in Cambodia availed themselves of free medical and dental services during a medical mission organized by the Samahan ng mga Pilipino sa Cambodia (SAMAPI), in partnership of the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh. The one-day event was held on 17 March 2019 at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Philippine Embassy.

 

Several Filipino medical practitioners in Cambodia shared their time, expertise and resources to provide free medical consultations and services, together with other invited health professionals from various hospitals and clinics in Phnom Penh. Among those who extended free medical services were Dra. Marissa Manampan, the doctors and nurses of Central Hospital, Dr. Rich Health and Beauty Clinic, and Marie Stopes Takhmao Clinic, as well as the dentists of Sunshine Dental Clinic.

 

Representatives of the Cambodian Red Cross was likewise on hand for its blood donation drive.

 

Filipinos who came to the event expressed appreciation to SAMAPI and the Embassy for the noteworthy community undertaking.

 

Philippine Ambassador Christopher B. Montero commended SAMAPI, led by Mr. Joel Dionco, SAMAPI president, and Ms. Mayen Conde, main coordinator and SAMAPI Assistant Treasurer, in keeping the Filipino spirit of bayanihan alive through the conduct of the medical mission. He encouraged SAMAPI to continue its partnership with the Embassy in the conduct of similar activities that would benefit all Filipinos in Cambodia. END
