FILIPINA ASSUMES THE HIGHEST RANKING UN POST IN CAMBODIA

19 March 2018 -- Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia Christopher B. Montero expressed pride and honor on the recent assumption of a Filipina, Ms. Pauline Tamesis, to the highest post in the UN System in Cambodia.

As UN Resident Coordinator, Ms. Tamesis will oversee the UN family of more than 20 specialized agencies, as well as affiliated programmes and funds, in Cambodia.

 

Prior to her appointment, Ms. Tamesis was Chief, Country Office Support of the UN Development Programme (UNDP) Bangkok Regional Hub (2016-2018) and Country Director of the UNDP Office in Bangladesh (2013-2016).

Ms. Tamesis holds a Master of Business Administration degree from Georgetown University (USA) and a Bachelor’s degree in Management Economics from the Ateneo de Manila University.

At a welcome dinner in her honor, Ambassador Montero cited that "the appointment of Ms. Tamesis as UN Resident Coordinator in Cambodia is a source of pride for the Philippines and the Filipino community in Cambodia. I am confident that she will be able to discharge her important duties with the same professionalism and excellence that Filipinos are known for." END
