LUTONG PINOY SA PHNOM PENH

Lutong Pinoy 1

Kain na! (Let us eat!)

Eating is an important time for Filipinos to come together over a table full of food, whether home-cooked or at one of the country’s many restaurants. It is then no wonder that an average person in the Philippines eats five meals a day. Starting with the ‘silog variety in the early morning – merienda (morning snacks) – lunch – merienda again in the afternoon – dinner – and, maybe even some midnight snacks.

In addition to savoring our favorite dishes in one of the Pinoy restaurants in the capital, you may wish to dig deep in the knowledge of our cuisine, try out some recipes right inside your kitchen, and perhaps to introduce them to your Khmer/expat friends.

Sentro Rizal of Phnom Penh has in its collection several wonderful books on Philippine cuisine, including recipes of dishes that you can whip up for each and every occasion or non-occasion.

This collection, along with many other books on Philippine culture and the arts, may be borrowed at no cost at the Sentro Rizal of Phnom Penh, which is located at the Philippine Embassy.

For information on SRPP's book collection, you may text/call/Viber the Embassy's Cultural Officer, Ms. Reichelle Corpuz, at +855-98-888-920.
