First Voters for the 2016 National Election 09 April 2016

A thirty-four year-old teacher was the first registered overseas voter to cast her vote for the 2016 national elections at the Philippine Embassy in Cambodia. Manileñan Adjani Marie Ann Barredo Navalta came with three of her church mates on 9 April 2016, to vote for their choice of President, Vice President, Senators, and Partylist Representative. A primary school teacher in Liberty International School, Teacher AJ, as she is fondly called, arrived in Phnom Penh in 2014. She considers it a social responsibility to vote for the next leaders of her country.

The Philippine Embassy in Cambodia reported that thirty-six (36) registered overseas voters cast their votes on the first day of overseas voting in Cambodia. END
