Philippine Ambassador Christopher B. Montero made an introductory call on H.E. Samdech Akeak Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, at the National Assembly complex in Phnom Penh on 19 August 2015.
During their meeting, Ambassador Montero cited the warm and friendly ties between the Philippines and Cambodia, and expressed his commitment to deepen bilateral relations, including through greater interaction among, and official exchanges between, the legislative chambers of both countries. He offered the assistance of the Philippine Embassy in organizing an English language training program the staff members of the Cambodian National Assembly, similar to an ongoing program with Secretariat General of the Cambodian Senate.
National Assembly President Heng Samrin noted the cordial state of relations between the Philippines and Cambodia, particularly in the areas of trade and investment, agriculture and tourism. He conveyed his support to Ambassador Montero for a successful mission during his tour of duty in Cambodia. END.
