13 May 2025 - The Philippine Embassy congratulated today the 846 voters who exercised their right of suffrage in the mid-term national elections conducted for Filipinos overseas from 13 April to 12 May 2025.

On 12 May 2025, the special electoral boards of the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh, which was designated as a clustered precinct by the Commission on Election’s Office for Overseas Voting, convened to prepare for the closing of the 2025 National Elections. Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC) Chair PH Ambassador Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo convened the members of the SBOC at 2 PM Cambodia time to conduct the pre-canvassing procedures. At around 6:15 PM Cambodia time, in the presence of four watchers from an accredited political party and six observers from the National Election Committee of Cambodia, the Special Board of Election Inspectors commenced the closing of internet voting in Cambodia, which was followed by the printing of Electoral Returns and canvassing by the SBOC.

Based on the canvassing results, the Filipino Community in Cambodia posted a voter turnout rate of 31.56% (846 out of 2,681 voters), which is among the highest turnouts in the Asia-Pacific region.

“Even as we continue to enjoy the entitlements of our Filipino citizenship, it pleases the Embassy that our Filipino voters in Cambodia also recognized their inherent duty to participate in a national exercise that shapes our country’s future. Our forefathers have fought so hard to bestow this fundamental right in every Filipino - enshrined in no less than the Philippine Constitution and a vital part of our nation’s political exercise as a constitutional democracy. For Filipinos living abroad, the importance that the Philippine government accords to overseas voting is a testament to the sanctity of every Filipino’s vote, irrespective of where they are in the world,” Ambassador Mayo said.

In accordance with PH election laws, the electoral returns and certificates of canvass for overseas voting in Cambodia may be viewed at the Multi-Purpose Hall of the Chancery. The COMELEC has also made an online portal available for the viewing of results through the following address:

The Embassy will announce the next round of registration on its website and official social media accounts for Filipinos in Cambodia who are not yet registered as overseas voters. END
