Phnom Penh - Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo called on Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sar Sokha on 20 November 2024 to discuss bilateral cooperation in various areas, including immigration, public order, and law enforcement.
DPM and Minister Sar Sokha recognized the almost seven (7) decades of cordial relations between the Philippines and Cambodia and encouraged both sides to forge a stronger bond on the bilateral level and as members of the ASEAN family.
Ambassador Mayo recalled the significant progress made at the 4th Joint Commission for Bilateral Cooperation held in Manila last August to deepen bilateral ties, including through the implementation of the existing Memorandum of Agreement on Cooperation in Combating Transnational Crimes.
Ambassador Mayo also availed herself of the opportunity to personally thank the Ministry for its positive response to Embassy representations to facilitate the repatriation of Filipino citizens over the years.
Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to combatting transnational crimes in the interest of regional security. END
