Phnom Penh, 13 November 2024 – Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of the Preah Sihanouk province, H.E. Mang Sineth, at the Provincial Government headquarters in Sihanoukville on 10 November 2024.

 

At the meeting, Ambassador Mayo provided updates on the profile and interests of Filipinos in the province as well as enhancing Philippines-Cambodia economic cooperation.

 

Recognizing the significant role of Preah Sihanouk province in Cambodia’s Pentagonal Strategy, the Ambassador raised the possibility of a visit of Philippine business delegation to the province to explore opportunities in various trade and investment areas such as food and beverage, retail, construction, health, education, and services. At this time, over 300 Filipino workers and small business owners are contributing to the provincial economy.

 

The ambassador thanked the Governor and relevant agencies for assisting distressed Filipinos, especially victims of illicit operations. Both sides expressed their readiness to cooperate in further enhancing bilateral relations.

They agreed that prospects for future partnerships remain positive, especially in the areas of trade and investments, marine biodiversity protection, and tourism. END
