Phnom Penh, 11 September 2024 – Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia, Her Excellency Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo, paid a courtesy call today on His Excellency, General Tea Seiha, Minister of National Defense of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

During the call, Ambassador Mayo lauded the progress in military-to-military engagements between the Philippines and Cambodia, including the successful conduct of the Philippine Army-led training course on Infantry Operations in Urban Terrain and Combat Tracking for the Royal Cambodian Army as well as the official visits to Cambodia of Philippine Army Commanding General Roy M. Galido and Armed Forces of the Philippines Chief of Staff S. Romeo Brawner, Jr. in July and September 2024, respectively.

Both sides conveyed a keen interest to broaden security and defense engagements to include cooperation against non-traditional threats such as cybercrime.

Currently, related initiatives are guided by the Memorandum of Understanding on Defense Cooperation signed by the two countries in December 2017.  END
