Phnom Penh, 12 July 2024 – Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo paid a courtesy call on His Excellency Gen. Mao Havannall, Minister-in-charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation of the Kingdom of Cambodia on 11 July 2024 to discuss stronger air connectivity and people-to-people exchanges between the Philippines and Cambodia.

Currently, only Philippine Airlines offers a direct MNL-PNH-MNL route four times weekly.  Both sides are seeking to boost trade and tourism flows through higher passenger and cargo volumes between Manila and Phnom Penh.

Ambassador Mayo provided updates on bilateral air services and lauded the contributions of Filipino experts to capacity-building in the Kingdom’s aviation sector.  For his part, Minister Mao noted that their good track record and international standards have made Philippine aviation schools a trusted destination for Cambodian pilot trainees.

“The Philippine Embassy remains ready to work with the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation to attain our countries’ aspirations for closer economic cooperation,” Ambassador Mayo assured Minister Mao. END
