Phnom Penh, 18 September 2023 – The Philippine Ambassador to Cambodia Maria Amelita C. Aquino joined an InterChamber Business Networking Event organized by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (PhilCham Cambodia), the Indian Chamber of Commerce in Cambodia (InCham Cambodia), and the Singapore Club Cambodia (SCC) on 14 September 2023 at the Sun and Moon Riverside Hotel in Phnom Penh.

Aimed at fostering connections and promoting growth within the business community, the event was attended by members of the three chambers, as well as other stakeholders from the business community in Cambodia. Ambassador Aquino briefly addressed the audience, citing the importance of networking in building relationships as it helps foster mutual confidence and trust among people, which is essential in a business environment. The Ambassador further underscored that the convergence among the three Chambers would allow opportunities to meet a more diverse group of people and develop wider contacts.

By combining respective resources and expertise, Ms. Benilda Custodio-Fernando, President of PhilCham Cambodia, Mr. Sandeep Majumdar, President of InCham Cambodia, and Mr. Andrew Tay, President of the SCC highlighted their advocacy to provide an unparalleled platform for businesses owned and operated by Filipinos, Indians, and Singaporeans in Cambodia to connect with a wider network of professionals and explore new avenues for growth in the Kingdom. Ms. Custodio-Fernandez further mentioned that “by hosting this event, we aim to empower our local business communities, foster further collaboration, and support economic growth for our respective business chambers in Cambodia.”

Apart from the usual networking, attendees also listened to a presentation by the company Simple Group, a business consulting and services venture based in Singapore. A raffle draw also gave a chance for the participants to win prizes from sponsors of the event.

PhilCham Cambodia, established in 2021, aims to expand the trade and investment ties between the Philippines and Cambodia as well as connect the Filipino Community in Cambodia and Cambodian businesses. END
