Visits Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh

(Phnom Penh, 14 July 2023) - The Philippine Embassy in Cambodia warmly welcomed 47 students from Grades 1 to 7 and teachers from Liberty International School on 14 July 2023.

The visit started with a short tour of the Embassy grounds, a showcase of the Philippine national hero, Philippine leaders, and previous Philippine Ambassadors to Cambodia.

Ambassador Maria Amelita C. Aquino welcomed the group and gave an overview of the Philippines through a short video clip, followed by a presentation on Philippine culture and history, its national symbols, tourism sites, and its similarities and differences with Cambodia. The ensuing interaction with the children, a mix of both Cambodian and foreign students, provided an opportunity to introduce the Philippines to curious and inquisitive minds and encourage them to visit and discover more about the country. They were in awe of the tourism sites, especially the waters and islands of the Philippines.

Liberty International School is an international co-educational primary school in Phnom Penh offering a combined Khmer and International curriculum through STEAM-based learning.

The group were treated to a bagful of Tenta goodies from Liwayway (Cambodia) Food Industries Co., Ltd., as well as a variety of Philippine tokens.END
