Filipino-led Phnom Penh Chorale Ensemble Holds Fundraising through Christmas Carols
Phnom Penh – With the theme "PPCE Sings Christmas", Filipino-led Phnom Penh Choral Ensemble (PPCE) held a fundraising Christmas concert on 4 December 2022 at the Oakwood Premier Phnom Penh for the benefit of the non-profit organization in Cambodia Sok Sabay Association which helps children in vulnerable situations.
In her remarks before the start of the concert, Ambassador Maria Amelita C. Aquino cited that the concert is a form of caroling for a cause and lauded the PPCE members for using their talents to raise funds for the benefit of the youth. “The youth are our future and not all of them have a good start in life but we can help transform their lives and empower them. Education, character building activities, showing them love and care, being there for them - these can make a difference in their lives - and I believe, ultimately contribute to a better world for all of us.”
In the first part of the concert, lyrics were shown on the screen to encourage the audience to sing along with the choir. At the end of the concert, PPCE conductor Ms. Hannah Lyn Bandalan expressed her appreciation, on behalf of the group, to the audience and sponsors for their support.
PPCE also organized another fundraising concert earlier this year for the benefit of various non-profit organizations Sok Sabay, Mith Samlanh Friends International and Sunrise Cambodia. END
