Fiesta Filipinas Season 2: Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival
Impressive Art Work by a Cambodian Bisita
Mr. Yem Sothany, Official of Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, participated in the virtual event Fiesta Filipinas Season 2: Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival held on 26 November 2022. The event’s hosts expressed warm admiration for his art work, a colorful painting of a throw pillow case with “pintados” tattoo-inspired patterns.
Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival is a cultural-religious celebration based on the body-painting traditions of the ancient tattooed “pintados” warriors of Leyte.
For the virtual event, the bisitas were provided with festival kits containing brown rice cake (kutsinta) instant mix, milk pineapple powdered drink, coco chew, salted peanut milk chocolate, San Juanico Bridge fridge magnet, Pintados-Kasadyaan headdress fridge magnet, simoy ng niyog scent, Mama Sita’s barbecue marinade, and DIY stenciled throw pillow case.
