Philippine Ambassador Holds Town Hall with Cambodian Youth

The Philippine Embassy in Cambodia warmly welcomed  thirty-eight Cambodian students from various universities on 20 September 2022  for a town hall meeting with  Ambassador Maria Amelita C. Aquino organized by the youth organization Young SEAkers Cambodia.  

The participants were given a brief tour of the embassy premises, including its Sentro Rizal and the consular public area before the meeting.

The town hall started with a brief introduction on the Philippines through short video clips,  followed by Ambassador Aquino’s presentation on Philippine-Cambodia relations, highlighting the two countries’ enduring  people-to-people ties and the potentials of expanding other aspects of bilateral relations, particularly in the economic area.   The Ambassador also candidly shared her experiences in Cambodia and working as a woman diplomat.

A lively exchange ensued during the question and answer portion as the young participants showed enthusiasm and interest on the topics discussed.  The Ambassador interspersed her responses with advice and encouragement for the students.

The town hall meeting ended with the participants having a taste of a Filipino afternoon snack of pansit (noodle)  and turon (banana in spring roll wrapper).END
