PHNOM PENH, 21 June 2022 – The 12th edition of the Multi-Agency Service Mission (MASM) held on 18 and 19 June 2022 at the Embassy’s premises catered to a record-breaking number of 809 Filipinos in Cambodia.

Nineteen (19) representatives from seven (7) government agencies, namely the Department of Labor and Employment’s Philippine Overseas Labor Office in Singapore (DOLE-POLO Singapore) and Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth), Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund), and Social Security System (SSS), participated in the event.

The services offered ranged from processing of Overseas Employment Certificates OWWA membership registration and renewal, renewal of LTO driver’s license, processing applications on Housing and Multi-Purpose Loans and the Modified Pag-IBIG II (MP2), PhilHealth membership updating and registration, SSS membership updating and registration, and applications for civil registry documents. The Embassy’s consular section also acknowledged employment contracts of Filipinos working in Cambodia.

Filipino community members hailed the conduct of the one-stop-shop MASM as it enabled them to avail of onsite document processing and services from various agencies, which would have taken them several days to complete if done in the Philippines.

“The Embassy continues to act on the mandate given by the President in making available to overseas Filipinos the government services they need, most especially because of the growing number of Filipinos in Cambodia,” stated Ambassador Maria Amelita Aquino in her opening remarks. She mentioned that the easing of travel restrictions in Cambodia enabled the conduct of the MASM, which was postponed for two years due to the pandemic. She further emphasized that the Embassy, in collaboration with seven other government agencies, organized the activity with the goal of bringing government services closer to Filipinos in Cambodia.

Clients during the MASM expressed appreciation to the Embassy for conducting the MASM with one saying, “Thank you for providing us with the one-stop shop of Philippine agencies. What a time-saving event! Timely, cost-efficient, and truly useful. Thank you for making our lives in Cambodia easier.” Another client commended the personnel who provided services saying, “Maayos, detalyado, mabait at mabilis. Friendly kausap at hindi ka maaalangan magtanong.”

The Embassy conducts the MASM in Cambodia in order for the Overseas Filipinos to spend quality time with their respective families during their vacation in the Philippines, instead of transacting business directly with frontline government offices in Manila or in the provinces. END
