Philippine Ambassador Highlights Commitment and Support for
Capacity Building Efforts of Cambodian Senate
Phnom Penh, 25 October 2021 -- Philippine Ambassador Maria Amelita C. Aquino, speaking at the opening ceremony of the fourth batch of the English Language Training Course for personnel of the Cambodian Senate held on 21 October 2021, reaffirmed the Philippine Embassy’s support for the development of the English language proficiency of the personnel of the Cambodian Senate.
Ambassador Aquino recalled the request of Senate President Samdech Vibolsena Pheakdei Say Chhum earlier this year for the Embassy to continue the training which the Ambassador considers a recognition of the capability and competence of Filipino teachers. “The cooperation between the Philippine Embassy and the Cambodian Senate also contributes to strengthening people-to-people ties as it involves not only the transfer of knowledge and skill but fosters mutual understanding and insights into each other as teacher and students interact,” she added.
H.E. LORK Chhay, Deputy Secretary General at the Cambodian Senate, expressed his gratitude to the Philippine Embassy for supporting the personnel of the General Secretariat of the Senate to acquire better skills and become more competent in providing their services to the Cambodian Senate.
The training was organized by the Secretariat-General of the Cambodian Senate in cooperation with the Philippine Embassy in Cambodia, and will run from 21 October 2021 to 21 January 2022.
The three-month online course will be conducted by Mr. Teddy Ariel Publico, a Filipino English as a Second Language (ESL) instructor at Paññasastra University of Cambodia. END
