PHILIPPINE EMBASSY IN PHNOM PENH COMMEMORATES118TH ANNIVERSARY OF MARTYRDOM OF DR. JOSE RIZAL
The officers and staff of the Philippine Embassy in Cambodia, joined by several members of the Filipino community, commemorated 118th death anniversary of Dr. Jose Rizal on 30 December 2014. In conjunction with events in Manila, a flag-raising and wreath-laying ceremony was likewise held at the Embassy grounds. This was followed by the reading of Jose Rizal’s poem “To the Filipino Youth” by 13-year old Pure Grace Melody Jotiz. A simple Filipino breakfast was then served to the attendees, which was followed by the screening of the movie “Jose Rizal” starring Cesar Montano. END
