Phnom Penh – Philippine Embassy personnel joined the Filipino community in Cambodia in watching the premier showing of “Hello, Love, Goodbye” in AEON Mall 1 in Phnom Penh. The romantic comedy starring Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards is the latest Filipino movie to hit Cambodian cinemas.
Ms. Karen Castaňeda, General Manager of Major Cineplex, said she is pleased to see the enthusiastic reception of Filipino movies in Cambodia, not only among the Filipinos, but also among the Khmers (Cambodians).
During an interview with Ms. Myca Fischer, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the Philippine Embassy before the start of the premier showing, she welcomed the opportunity for Cambodians to learn more about Filipinos. She expressed the view that this movie will likely resonate with Cambodians, especially those who have had to make sacrifices while working abroad.
A meet-and-greet session with Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards is scheduled to be held on Sunday, 1 September 2019, at 1:30 pm, in Major Cineplex, AEON Mall 1 in Phnom Penh. An opportunity to showcase Philippine culture, there will also be Filipino folk dances and a fashion show during activity.
Helmed by award-winning director Cathy Garcia-Molina, the movie will be showing in various cinemas in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap starting 30 August 2019. END
