INVITATION TO FILM SHOWING AND
FORUM ON VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND CHILDREN
In observance of the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW), the Embassy of the Philippines in Phnom Penh invites the public to the watch the screening of the award-winning film “Bagahe.”
Directed by Zig Dulay, Bagahe explores the life of an overseas Filipino worker named Mercy who is suspected of abandoning a newborn child in a trash bin of an airplane toilet. The film shows what happens to the OFW while being investigated.
A forum on Violence Against Women - how to detect and prevent, as well as support services for victims – will be held after the movie screening. The discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Vic Salas, an independent consultant on issues related to public health and development, HIV/AIDS, sexual and gender-based violence.
Refreshments will be served prior to the film showing.
With the support of the Film Development Concil of the Philippines, the movie will be shown free of charge.
The movie will be shown in its original version, with English sub-titles.
