International standards require international travelers to have passports that are valid for a minimum of six (6) months beyond their intended date of travel/stay in the destination country. For example, if you intend to travel to a foreign country from 01 December to 09 December 2017, your passport must at least still be valid by 09 June 2018.
There is, however, no minimum passport validity for Philippine passport holders travelling back to the Philippines.
The processing time of applications for passport renewal can take six (6) to eight (8) weeks from the date of the filing of application at the Embassy. To avoid problems and inconvenience, all Filipino nationals are strongly advised and encouraged to file their application for passport renewal at least eight (8) months before the expiration date.
Please be guided accordingly.
