In light of upcoming Cambodian holidays (Independence Day on 9 November and Water Festival on 10-12 November) that are expected to draw large crowds, especially in Phnom Penh, members of the Filipino community are strongly encouraged to:

• Stay connected. Inform your family and friends about your whereabouts so that they know where and how to contact you. Make sure that you are registered with the Embassy so that the Embassy can contact you if there is a need.

• Be prudent. Avoid crowded places.

• Follow the advice of authorities, including at police/military check-points.

• Stay informed. Closely monitor local media and social media networks; Be aware of your surroundings at all times.

• Be prepared.       Although no specific security threat is monitored at the moment, it is important to prepare for any emergency before they happen and to take necessary steps to safeguard yourself and your family.
