Members of the Filipino community in Cambodia are strongly encouraged to observe the following measures during the campaign period and Sangkat/Commune Council Elections on 04 June 2017:

• Prohibition on Alcohol: The Royal Government of Cambodia has banned the sale and consumption of alcohol during the period 03-04 June 2017, aimed at avoiding violence and unrest during the election. This directive includes all foreigners living in Cambodia;

• Be prudent. Avoid crowded places, especially where there are campaign rallies. During election day, stay away from polling stations.

• Stay informed. Closely monitor local media and social media networks;

• Be prepared.  Although no specific security threat is monitored at the moment, it is important to prepare for any emergency before they happen and to take necessary steps to safeguard yourself and your family.
