The Embassy of the Philippines in Cambodia has confirmed with the Ministry of Labor and Vocational Training (MLVT) about the veracity of articles circulating online  regarding the one-month long extension (i.e., until 30 April 2017)  to the deadline on work permits for foreign workers.

MLVT likewise confirmed that foreigners applying for a work permit this month can do so without having to make retroactive payments for all the years they have worked without a  work permit in Cambodia.

Starting 01 May 2017, MLVT will impose fines of $10/day for late registration of work permits.

MLVT had also mentioned that it may be easier to apply online www.fwcms.mlvt.gov.kh

The Embassy reiterates its call to all Filipinos in Cambodia to ensure that all pertinent documents, specifically passports, visas, and work permits, are always up-to-date and compliant with relevant immigration and labor laws/regulations of Cambodia.
