20 April 2025, Phnom Penh - The Philippine Embassy extolled the Teachers’ Learning Action Guild in Cambodia (TLAGC) for spearheading a socio-civic project with a Cambodian school as beneficiary.
With the help of the FORTEnors, an ensemble of Filipino professional singers whose mission is to “help heal the world through the power of music, one song at a time”, TLAGC raised funds for an underserved Cambodian school in dire need of renovation through a charity concert on 19 April 2025 at the main auditorium of International Christian Assembly in Phnom Penh.
In her opening remarks, Philippine Ambassador Flerida Ann Camille P. Mayo thanked TLAGC for being a steadfast partner of the Embassy in promoting the greater good of the Filipino community in Cambodia and fostering the community’s pride in their Filipino culture and identity.
“The Philippine Embassy is grateful to TLAGC and the Filipino teachers who give our country a good name. True to Filipino form, the work ethic, competence, and dedication of our professionals are valued not only in Cambodia but also all over the world,” the Ambassador said.
Ambassador Mayo also lauded the FORTEnors for embodying the Filipino brand of excellence overseas. “In today’s increasingly troubled world, we can be encouraged by the authentic generosity and rich vocal gifts that the FORTEnors bring to the stage. They remind us that, if we choose the right notes, we have in each of us the power to uplift each other,” the Philippine Ambassador stated.
The benefit concert was undertaken by TLAGC in line with its mission to support improvements in the quality of education and learning environments for Cambodian children. END
