With reference to Advisory No. 08-2025 titled “Standard Procedures for Filipinos Requesting to be Released or Repatriated”, the Philippine Embassy in Phnom Penh continues to extend diligent Assistance-to-Nationals (ATN) services to Filipinos, including those seeking repatriation from Cambodia.

Even as host government offices were closed for the long Khmer New Year holidays on 14-16 April 2025, the Embassy persevered in making appropriate representations through official and informal channels on the cases of Filipinos held in police or removal offices.

The Embassy emphasizes that the authority to approve exit clearances rests exclusively with the host government. With full respect for the laws and internal processes of the host country, the Embassy remains appreciative of usual kind attention given by Cambodian authorities to its representations concerning Filipino citizens.

Filipinos who remain in police or removal centers, particularly those in Oddar Meanchey, are supported with ATN provisions requested by them in at least 12 bulk deliveries between 20 March and 17 April 2025.  These supplies included various fresh and canned food, rice, condiments, assorted beverages and water, electric fans, cookers, pillows, blankets, sleeping mats, towels, ice box, personal hygiene products and over-the-counter medicines.  In at least two cases, the provincial authorities kindly accommodated the Embassy’s request for medical treatment required by certain individuals for gout and dizzy spells.

The Filipino public can rest assured that the Embassy attends to all its ATN cases on a daily basis, including during weekends and holidays. The Embassy’s ATN hotline +855 9888 8771 is open 24/7 for emergency calls.
