Newly-elected SAMAPI officials take their oath before Ambassador Maria Amelita C. Aquino

at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Philippine Embassy on 1 December 2021

 

7 December 2021, Phnom Penh – Led by Chairman Raul Belgica and President Zarggie Elloso, the newly-elected officials of the Samahan ng mga Pilipino sa Cambodia (SAMAPI) for 2022-2023 took their oath before Ambassador Maria Amelita C. Aquino at the Philippine Embassy on 1 December 2021.

In her remarks, Ambassador Aquino expressed her hope for the SAMAPI officials to strengthen the unity of Filipinos living and working in Cambodia, encourage the registration and involvement of all Filipinos with SAMAPI, as well as continue working with the Embassy in helping and reaching out to more Filipinos in the country.

An open forum with Ambassador Aquino, Consul General Emma R. Sarne, Vice Consul Frances Louissa C. Cleofas, ATN Officer Mr. Joseph V. De Claro, and Defense and Armed Forces Attaché Col. Shalimar R. Imperial was also held to discuss various concerns of the Filipino community in Cambodia. The newly-minted SAMAPI officials also presented their plans and proposed projects for 2022, which included a medical mission, and supporting a local school. END
